Every time I try to submit my application, I keep getting returned to the same page, and there's no error message telling me what's wrong. What should I do?
If you are using Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0 as your browser, please complete the following to correct this issue:
1. Select the Tools menu and then Internet Options.
2. Select the Advanced tab and scroll down to the Security section.
3. Check SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, & TLS 1.0.
If the problem persists, you may need to download a software update from Microsoft®.
Is it safe to apply online?
Yes. We use encryption technology known as Secure Sockets Layer ("SSL") for secure transmission. When your data is transmitted over the Internet, it is encrypted when it is sent and then decrypted when it is received. All our online application information is kept on a secure server and protected by a firewall.
What happens if I don't answer all the questions on the application?
Do I have to be a resident of the United States to be approved online for credit?
Why can't I use a Post Office Box?
Federal law requires us to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account, in order to help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities. Therefore a street address is required for identification purposes.
How long will it take to receive my card?
Once your application is approved, you will receive your card within 14 days.
I'm in the U.S. military overseas. How can I apply for credit?
Simply provide your permanent home address in the U.S. or use the U.S. address of a family member.
Why do I need a Security Word? The Security Word you choose will be used to ensure proper identification when you call us, register for online services, or transfer balances. To help prevent unauthorized access to your account, do not share your Security Word with anyone.
What format should my Security Word be?
Your security word must consist of letters or numbers and should be no more than ten characters.
Why do you need my vehicle information?
Information about your vehicle is only used to verify your identity for security purposes.
What is the language preference?
The language preference you choose will always be used for phone communications. Plus, you'll automatically view the site in that language each time you sign on. Email communications, however, are only available in English.
PLEASE NOTE: Online statements can only be viewed in the language preference in effect on the closing date of each statement. It may take 4–6 weeks for language preference changes to become effective for online statements, postal mail, and phone communications.
What can an authorized user do and not do?
An authorized user can make purchases and do many other account actions. Note: They CANNOT request a Credit Line Increase or lower APR, add another authorized user, or close the account.
